There is quite a bit of info through out this thread on both models. My suggestion is to do a bit of reading first.
The short answer is clothing doesn't generally grow with wear. If they are too small now they may shrink and stretch back to the size they are currently. I can speak to the 47's and my rule of thumb is 2" up in the waist, all other LVC models I buy my true waist size. |

Thank you very much for your reply, I have specifically look everywhere for the lvc 1890 501xx shrink-to-fit info and I haven't came across any, neither before-after pictures or such... I wonder if I should give em a rinse or so... I appreciate any help thank you!

Also, a quick forum etiquette tip; ask your question once, in the thread to which it pertains. Asking your questions several times in several threads as a new member is annoying at best.
Now we got a nice quiet little beach front community here, And I am to keep it nice and quiet. So let me make something plain, I don't like you sucking around, Bothering our citizens, (lewboski) Elrocanrol. |

What? Are you implying that I'm disrespectful and then you disrespect me this way while all I am is sharing experiences and asking about denim which apparently is one of our passions? Sucking around and bothering? I ain't doing none of that... I would understand a respectful warning but I don't think anybody deserves this kind of treatment. Aren't we all supposed to be gents here?

Elro- I'm pretty sure that was tongue-in-cheek.. I don't know the movie that well but that sounds like a line from "the big lebowski" hence the lebowski reference.. Or I could be totally wrong and he thinks your an ass? Either way let it roll off.. We may not be gents, but we can take a little ribbing

Still no answer about the 1890s... Thought this was a blog about denim, not movies let alone the big lewosky

I don't remember my 1890/94's shrinking that much, half inch if I remember correctly- they should be worn loose if you want to keep with the spirit of the 1800's. |

one more thing- if your working in your 1890/94's I would suggest wearing a rope belt to keep them up....if your just walking around and hanging out- suspenders might be the way to go....you probably should just wear them- no need for a soak or wash IMO. |

This is a forum, not a blog. The difference being: a forum is not only about one person. If that was too subtle for you, I'm not surprised. |

Purchased the Pantaloons from Stylecreep for £37.50 over
the weekend with their 25% off code. I have to say first impressions and fit
are great. The hems weren't too bad inside either compared to some of the
others I've seen on here. Only problem was they only had 36" leg left do
they shrink much after a hot soak/wash in the leg or is it another visit to the
Levis tailor for me?
