Truman Boot Co from Pennsylvania looks rather decent. I like the natural Dublin pair.

Wow! these are beautiful. I don't usually go for the eyebrow, but this pair is great. What are they? |

Anyone care to comment on the quality/durability of chippewa? Considering a pair of their service boot, weighing against Oak Street Bootmakers Trench or possibly a Redwing beckman/wingtip. Have some RW already, round toe and a pair of wabash hand sewn and Grensons but not ready for whites/wesco/viberg level (or price yet)
Apologies if the wrong thread for the question.

I couldn't be happier with my LL Bean Katahdins (I think they are essentially the service boot with a cap toe). I must have had them four or five years now. They've shared about fifty percent of my not at work time with a pair of Fryes for all that time. Got new heels recently, but that's all. Sturdy, but not ridiculously heavy. They've got lots of character and good proportions for a 360o welt. A lot of the ones that show up on the eB look terrible, I think people must spend their time kicking rocks or something. I've never owned RWs, but from just handling them I'd say they were on a par, including fit and finish.

Dress Brown SD's I picked up a few months back. I'm not sure I could appreciate another pair of lace-ups as much as I do these.
