I have same prob often in boots (inkl. Lofgren) because a high instep...

I have the opposite problem with engineers. Most times the heel is too damn big. Lofgren's are one of the only brands that fit me well in that area.

That’s so interesting, I find the Lofgren heel much larger than my other boots (real McCoy’s and brass clinch).

Thats the blessing and curse of engineers, every subtle bit that's off is way more exaggerated because of the lack of laces.

Speaking of which, I've just put my Lofgren natural CXL up for sale. After a day of hard walking in them, I'm going to admit the Lofgren last is just too wide for my narrow feet, even when the length is spot on :(

Thanks Cozzie - the tongue is a much thinner leather as you’d expect and I do have a habit/preference of pulling the laces quite tight above the ankle
