That’s a great setup and a handsome bike. How does it handle?

It handles ok but i would rather have a steel frame for commuting, this is slightly dull and unresponsive, my main objective was the Alfine hub (poor mans Rohloff) changing down numerous gears while stood at traffic lights is a revelation, plus the bike's left outside under a bike porch so i didn't want anything too expensive. It came down to a used Grater3 leaving a few £100 to tinker/upgrade or a 2016 Cube Hyde Pro. I'd be happy with either.

My experience is that Charge are decent - I've ridden the Cooker, it felt pretty good

I'm surprised at the uniform approach to bike styles/types on this thread tho'

When I was young I rode road (geddit?) bikes and laterally I rode mountain/XC. My last bike was a Santa Cruz Nomad. But I'm getting too sore too often so now I mainly just pose in FW clothes

Ive never owned a road bike, i rode BMX through the 80's and got my first MTB, a GT Zaskar around 1990, ive had a plethora of MTBikes since and this is my first hybrid.

The one that got away was a Pace RC200 (circa 92) still love one now.

Aren't Pace from somewhere around your garden? I remember the square tube design but I've never seen one in the flesh

My (long gone) fantasy was to get a custom build from Nicolai - their frames are stunning

I build you a frame when i,m able to Double O.
Had to move my course forward to Januari, cause my mum is not going well.
So if you have some patience and some faith in my capability...

That's a wonderful gesture Paul! although the cost of euro-ship could dampen your kind sentiment.

Indeed, i have both patience and faith.. plenty of time to make bike frames, mom's take priority you only get one of those.

^^That truly is a thing of beauty Paul. Must be a wonderful feeling to see the end result after all the work you put in?
