The women do look preened and postured do we have any women in workwear doing manual work?
Shoeing a horse, felling a tree, digging potatoes and so on, or at least a un-manicured cuticle. |

Careful what you wish for, this thread may just turn into pics of Double 0 in drag.

Sorry proulxsie im probably a bit confused by it all, Im not saying the images don't look marvelous but does the clothing actually belong to these women? who actually put in
the work to create the "wear" some of the images look like models who have been hired to wear "workwear" rather than women wearing their own, but i could be entirely wrong.
The only women i see in workwear are either factory workers who wear a leather apron or farm hands who wear dirty jeans and oversized knitwear, I could try and sneak a crafty photograph. I like your thinking hollows, Double 0 queen of the desert... Good job ive bought some Veet. |

I think my intention with this thread was to make a place to post womens inspiration since it's lacking across the board. "Women in workwear" is as a title is open to interpretation, including the clothing in here merely being inspired by workwear. While historical photos of real women workers in workwear are prevalent (and anyone should feel free to post em here!), modern workwear for women is not as prevalent as it is for men. Also, most of this thread is me posting my own inspiration, which clearly veers on the side of lookbook/editorial photography rather than historical images. Not to mention that for my own interests in getting dressed in the morning—I am not as into wearing a time-dated costume as much as wearing stuff that looks contemporary but borrowing elements or essence from the past.

. . . is the correct answer (IMHO). Too much time wasted in trying to be authentic when what that actually means is not real but copied, plagiarised, imitated or interpreted to fit into a particular (current) lifestyle and/or culture - yet at the same time disparaging anything that seems more blatant in doing the same. |

'Women in workwear' is all very contextual too. The work attire of a traffic warden is likely to be very different to that of an engineer or a burlesque artist,
