ok
so no big coverage in terms of distance, all around 5-10 mins walk from home [and calling to all those promising tours... let go go go] camberwell saaaaaaath london imagined site of a mythic carrot to the south: east Dulwich and the foodies and the media types to the west: oval, vauxhall, Pimlico and yes olde london to the east: Peckham, New Cross, Greenwich, Woolwich [and the last bits of space...]; the young uns, the trendies and the out of towners to the north: Elephant and Castle, Waterloo, the West End [sites of most intense gentrification in the immediate present] a site between and betwixt long without a tube [underground train stop] it has hovered between realms now tube-a-fied [the new-fangled overground; a pipeline between dalston-hoxton and clapham {{{I shudder typing those names even}}}] times are a changing a tour some shadows, fingers, and spaces in-between... to start as any tour should: refreshments and mcd's to be found in the infamous butterfly walk arcade a swift turn and onto denmark hill leading onto the green but before we leave, please ponder a moment the strange beauty of glamoween and then stride forth dear bros... the cycle of disinvestment and the practices of 're-investment' the green for which camberwell green is named a london bus! [or 3 - camberwell is most well served by these majesties of the road] and some old vs new world moments... embattlements as embetterments and this one just for double 0 this used to be an industrial site where things were once made: badly designed luxury lifestyle boxes replace such productive matters... another transformation many pubs transformed to mosques or churches here the chance of bingo transformed to the will of god one truly grumpy old mans pub remains in this particular stretch ... [many gastro pubs flourish elsewhere but not with such an intransigent sign] to leave you with fragments of signage of the in-betweens of a once in-between space... [a particular vernacular] to come later: a number 12 bus journey... |

Bartleby's stroll kept me enchanted. I found the finger points to annoying instances of tone-deaf gentrification particularly helpful.
Weird cultural disjunctures: - your local law enforcement weapons clean-up seems to target nothing more than well-sharpened cutlery, no firearms; and, bless you, - purple bin bags. |

Unfortunately HP, those sharp items of cutlery have ended the lives of far too many people in London over the last few years. We’re grateful that guns are relatively contained compared to some other countries.

It’s a terrific idea Double 0
I’ll add some over the next few days - I’ve got a good handful of tourist shots I could lead with and then add some more ‘real’ pics when I get the chance of a stroll around town |
