Have 1937 arches changed? These are post WWII, and this fit is not from the 30s or 40s.

Perhaps these are from the pre-LVC Capital E range that was (made and) launched in the USA? Some of the historical details are incorrect for a 1937 model (which these are closest to) such as the buttons that you mentioned and the arcuates.

I came across what certainly looks like a 90’s version of a type 2 jacket- small e- I’m guessing sometime in the 90’s, a half hearted attempt was being made to re- create their old styles before LVC came along.

^l had one of those. Bought it in and around 1993 when my old og type 2 became too small.
Think it was ok, but the top line of the box pleat stitches were well below the top pocket line, (similar to the tcb type 2) - if that makes sense? I really wanted the detail of my original so I passed it on. Edited by Dr_Heech - 12 Sep 2019 at 11:19am |
