Photos from our SF trip last weekend.
Our hotel reminded us of The Shining. So full. Thrifting in SF is pretty cool. This photo makes me sad because the jacket didn't fit. |

From a few weeks back (just now getting the photos sorted). Took a trip down to Big Sur to visit some friends who had relocated there from the North Bay after last years flooding. Pacifica, on the way down. It was to be a foggy weekend, but that didn't stop the surfers or picnicers. We'd never been to Big Sur before, so had no idea what to expect, aside from general california coastalness. From the Pacific Coast Highway we turned off onto a sleepy looking one lane road just across from the beach where the scenes of catherine's house's beach in Basic Instinct was filmed. This little annasuming road wound along through massive redwoods for a bout a quarter mile. There where ancient log cabins and newer Big Sur style houses (I was later to learn about this) here and there along a winding creek. Like something from a fairy tale. It was otherworldy. Our friend's house, which has been in their family since the '60s, was hand built by our friends dad, along with this adjoining house where we stayed. The house across the street: On the hill above the house was a little falling down shack which was apparently an art studio for a nearby house in the '80s. Also found in the debris of the shack- '80s unicorn glitter globe: I was using this chainsaw art bear to rest an ashtray on and was informed that it was an original Cherie Currie (from The runaways) piece. I started to move my ashtray, but then figured that Cherire would understand, so left it. Edited by mr randal - 04 Dec 2019 at 6:30pm |

Next day we went on a hike. It was seriously fogged in, but as we climbed through the ceanothus and coyote brush we gradually came out above the fog and were on a single hilltop floating in an ocean of glimmering white fog. |

The SE party was great, huge turnout and nice to meet so many people.
Great photos, I drove from LA to SF along the PCH about 5 years ago and it was amazing. Would love to explore that area again. |
