With out further ado....
Here is my first experience with old Leroy. Some friends and I went up to the Montezuma wild life refuge and went snow goose hunting. As the artic snow goose migrated back north they have a few stop over locations around where I live in upstate New York. One of the best places is the Montezuma Wild Life Refuge. Of course it is illegal to hunt them in the refuge so we set up on some farm land just outside. These geese gather in the tens of thousands over a period of a few weeks on the trip back north. We set up decoys to attract the birds to our location as they do their daily flights from their roosting location to find food. As in most hunting, we need to blend in with the surroundings. In this case white works very well so we wear Tyvek suits. We lay on the ground on a very low backrest to keep us up a little bit and just wait. A combination of using calls and decoys that fly in the air using the wind to get the attention of the birds passing over. Unfortunately, I needed to cover the Leroy’s due to it being very cold and needing to wear the “camo,” but they are under there. This old barn is super cool. Snow goose hunting can be incredibly frustrating. Thousands of birds flew over us with hardly a glance. They fly much higher then Canadian Geese so it is a lot more difficult to gain their interest. However, when you do get a chance to take a shot it is very rewarding to get one. We shot 4 geese in total. Sorry about not actually having any shots of the Leroy’s it was way to cold to only have them on. I had hopes of getting some shots at the end of the day in just the jeans but it didn’t work out. Just wanted to get something up here before this thread continued its death spiral. Haha. |

So, some shots of creatures you killed for fun, but no pics of jeans....
Ah well. Interesting use of the phrase "death spiral"...……………………. |

Hmmm, sorry u r disappointed denimsince65. I went back through this thread and saw that a lot the the pics were of people doing things while wearing the jeans. I found that to be as interesting as the jeans themselves. Seems to tell a story of their life. I guess that was my attempt. I did kill those creatures for fun but also food. I saw lots of other pics on here of food that was once a living creature, but I guess that is different when it is all pretty on a plate and no longer resembles what it once was.

Looks great Cozzie, if you're a meat eater there's nothing wrong
whatsoever with killing and eating wild food, its much more ethical than
funding intensive farming methods via the supermarket or fast food
joint. I don't think folks take enough responsibility for the death of their food when its killed by proxy and wrapped in plastic.
