thanks for posting guys.

interesting to see that the 20s 201 appears to carry a Cone tag. I wonder if thats a mistake or if cone is making the fabric now.

Cool to see the 201s back in the line up. IMO, the 78s are kinda an odd choice.  I can think of couple other models I'd rather see them do instead (proper '54 501Z, 60s 551ZXX or 502)
I got a rocket in my pocket and roll in my jeans

^ I got from one of the LVC shop guys that Cone IS making the 201 fabric now, but was unable to confirm that with one of the designers. I did talk to them about the Cone denim for the '78. They say that Cone still had the recipe on the books for that one, and so were able to duplicate it exactly. They seemed really pleased with how the '78 turned out, and it did look really good.

A vintage Levi's jacket on Ebay similar to the Blue-Black repro. Buy it now before the price doubles again! Started out at merely $20,000USD.

let's hope they get the fit of the 78 right this time, the prior release was HUGE. i was considering getting a pair a few years back until i got reports of the measurements and decided i wasn't up for another round of guess your size.

^Actually, I heard from a reliable source that the new '78s (at least a sample one) are indeed over-sized.
We need to develop a special smiley that denotes expected disappointment in LVC sizing.

that's too bad and takes me out of the market. my present policy for LVC is if my normal size measures out odd or strange i simple will not buy. i learned the hard way to always get measurements before purchase and if they blow that i'm out. fortunately i do not need any at all so if they want to get my business they will have to get their act together. i love LVC but i have been burned too many times. i have even called customer service about it and that is a maddening experience---everything from to they do not know the line, to it was cancelled a few years back etc....i finally was called back by a lady who was higher up and she was willing to listen to me and at least knew the line existed but it was obvious she was not familiar with the products. that was made clear when discussing the evolving fit from year to year she told me the 1947 was one of the looser fitting models and was supposed to be loose. wtf?

That jacket on ebay is at more than 40 large ones not 20. And actually rather than putting it up on ebay he might want to sell it to Levi's, I'm sure they'd love it, although not sure about their offer on the 40 grand price tag

It is a shame that Lvc made a balls-up of the cuts on the '47, the 501z and the 505.  I would have loved an accurate repro of them all.
Also, in my opinion, the core of collectors/wearers I've spoken to liked the period of jeans made by L.S.& co from the second world war to the late 1960's particularly, due to all the subtle changes that took place.  Plus these models (apart from the WW2 type) were still fairly easy to come by even here in the UK before the Japanese pushed the prices up in '89/90.
I know Warehouse, Sugarcane and the like have made models very similar capturing the nuances and subtle changes we all loved (variations in thread colour/offset belt-loop/different bar-tacking thread/leather patches ..etc) but in reality the only LVC repro's that are within the ball-park for me are the 1944's, the '55's and the '63 551z's.

Still 3 out of 6 ain't bad Clap
