That's a pretty cool selling point (but we'd hope/expect they duplicate all the years exactly!).  I've only seen one picture of a guy wearing the old 78s (he was briefly in the cultizm contest, his '78s fell apart early on), and they fit him very well.  Between that, and the denim, it makes them interesting.  But, the late 70s?  I dunno, not exactly a nostalgic era!

Here's the fit pix of the '78s the guy posted for the contest.  Too bad they didn't hold up....

hadn't looked at these photos in a while, seems like they're riding a little lower in the front that I'd expect.

The 551ZXX is the only model I'm really jonesing for LVC to do.  Cool era, and so many different details coming together in one model.  Probably won't see it again for years, if ever...

That '78 fits really cool! I like it. What happened exactly to the pairs? What were the issues?

You know they are keen on denim-heads though.  If the site-launch for LVC taught us anything, it's that LVC is aware of its fans online. I think it would go over pretty well, the 67 505 was relatively popular (and unless I am completely mistaken was the only zip-fly denim in 2009 & 2010)

I can't find his post, but I know he had issues with some part of the jeans wearing out quickly.  Here's the one wear update he posted, "3 months wear, one wash, one shower".  Looks like the seat/crotch is ready to wear through....

Michael - here's a pair in your waist size, not sure about your inseam.  He also has some 1920 201's and some 1937 201xx's in your size.  All made at valencia street.
There was a BNWT pair of 551zxx in your size for £350, but they must have sold.

Setterman the 551's are out there. i've wanted some too and we wear the same size W. i have seen a few prs the last 6 mos. i need a 38/34 and that has been the hangup for me. so far they've all been 38/36 or 38/36 hemmed and i want the original hem in mine. i've seen a couple of pair go fairly cheap around $125. i'm guessing many more were made in 38/36 than 38/34 going by the empirical evidence, which is fine by me i'm in no hurry.

getting ready to throw my 1922s in for their first wash since October and I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice if LVC made a 1920s 506XX outta that same denim....
