Care to elaborate^

Did you ever manage to get those size 11 Lofgrens on the first rung of the property ladder?

I'm replacing a lot of crappy modern fixtures in my house with very pretty antique ones (from roughly the same time period as the clothing styles I like), I've tried posting about this infatuation here before but it didn't really seem to catch anyone else's fancy (but rest assured I will try again).

My footwear roster has been pretty stable for years now with Lofgren Engineers, White's Bounty Hunter, Danner hikers, and a few years back I added some Bedrock sandals for summertime. Every now and then I'm tempted by Moto and Lofgren, but not enough to reach for the wallet so far.

Please post jappaned/copper flash hardware stuff, love seeing it. I'm looking out for some of my own but it's hard finding the right pieces at the right price.

Thanks for the encouragement, gents. Have a look at the now-bustling Vintage Interiors thread!

I’m still good.

Though I may need new Work shoes at some point this year, which I said doesn’t count, but I’m still good with not buying anything so far. My girlfriend forgot I was doing this and got me a $100 gift card to Cotton Sheep so there will definitely be a Kapital purchase at some point this year... which I don’t really feel bad about considering I got a gift card toward it... it will be a really fully thought out and intentional purchase. Might try to wait until my birthday, but that’s in november, heh.

Like I said in my last post, my girlfriend got me a gift card to Cotton Sheep here in SF and they carry Kapital- absolutely one of my favorite brands... I went in a few weeks ago wearing my IDGxIDG Ringoman jacket and the shop owner Eiko told me they would be getting this denim variant of the Ringoman, and it came in just a few days ago.

My silly little idea is done. For now. If I continue to make no purchases from this point on, I may set a new goal, but for now I can move on having learned a little about valuing my luxury items.

Thanks to those who showed support and made positive discussion.

I have finally broken my self imposed 'No Buy' i consider ive done pretty well with almost 2yrs under my belt, the last item of clothing i bought was a SunSurf shirt from Naoki back in June 2017 ive even repaired £18 gloves rather than replace them.

After my CSF recently fell to rags i 'needed' another pair of jeans or at least that's what ive been telling myself.
Over the last couple of years Ive been through a period of lets say cognitive dissonance regarding consumerism, i love this forum and the people who take the time to post here but it relies heavily on rampant consumerism to thrive and as much as i know its fucking us up its a more enjoyable place because of it and the more unbridled the better the forum is... but it can't go on, well it can't for me at least.
Ive bought a pair of jeans from JP last week which ive coveted since the day they dropped.. regarding overseas purchases ive always appeased my nagging brain by telling myself that my drastically reduced washing schedule 'no dryer' ect is enough to offset the fact that i'm vain enough to import a pair of jeans from the other side of the world so i can feel better about what i cover my legs with.... Otherwise i live as humbly as possible... Its not like i'm one of those Instagram pricks with 10 Rolex's wrapped around the steering wheel of a Lambo, i use my car once a month (if i have to) i only take 1 flight/year, i recycle, i compost i'm even building a flippin wormery for goodness sake!
I'm not saying i'm part of the solution because my lifestyle is far from sustainable but i think i'm happier not being part of the problem. We're fucked unless we halt ecconomic growth but paradoxically if i had a million quid i'm sure i would want to enjoy some of the trappings which it brings just like others do unless.. whats the fucking point.
Anywho.. ive got some new jeans but i feel kinda bad about it, i honestly think this will be my last overseas purchase.
I'm not like some here who cen wear a pair of jeans to a 'perfect' stage and then rotate them for the next year or two, for me that perfect stage is only a few weeks away from being rags so they need replacing..
I'm not sure what the future will bring, i don't have that many shirts, sweaters, jackets, pumps ect but i'm sure i have enough to last me a lifetime, i just need to replace jeans every 2yrs.. maybe i can eke it out buying from the secondry market.. ebay, UK based forum members, vintage shops ect.. only time will tell, i'm going to try my best.

I'll endorse anything for cash

Well done Neal, the secondary market is definitely where it’s at as far as I’m concerned but that’s for price as much as anything else. I have a new pair incoming as I sold my TCBs (one in, one out is allowed in my book) but I think that’s my last pair for the foreseeable future.

I like sustainable lifestyles and try to do my bit but in truth I don’t think they’re anywhere near enough to redress the damage done and drastic changes are required globally from the top-down to make any kind of difference.

Anyway, which pair of CSF have you bought?
