I just listed a pair of 501s that I have owned for a long time picked up at a thrift shop.
You guys helped me date my one-wash 1953 leather patch levis 501s so I thought perhaps you can help me make sure I am not under valuing or over valuing this pair. There are no tags or marking on the pocket bags just like my 1953s. But there is a 555 marking on the top button. Unless that button was replaced at some point, that implies a later date and perhaps LVC. I own two pairs of pre-LVCs from the 90s and this is not that. It is also not a fake knockoff. 555 stamp is Valencia St all the way. I think the factory closed in early 2000s. Great pair of jeans but probably not as old as you may think they are...

without any pictures its kind of hard to give you any information other than they can out of the Valencia st factory.
