The first Sunday morning of every month is the Alameda Flea Market. Hundreds of vendors/dealers display (I think last time it was around 1,000) their wares and it is an excellent source of old leather jackets, work boots, denim, workwear, military odds and ends, touquoise jewelry, and just cool stuff to decorate your place. The hard core collectors are there when it opens at 6am and it goes until the afternoon.

They also have lots of food trucks.

Ha! No shit. I didn't even realize the whole thing he's just in his underwear.
I think the thing is a parody and attempting to more poke fun at the DB scene as opposed to being an actual fan.

edit-
On a second watch, it obviously is a parody. I guess I was semi-awake and overly-prepared to see what I expected to see this morning, so I suppose he got me pretty good. Well done!

Hmmn... I don't know why my head was so turned around this morning- I half watched that video and assumed it was exactly the kind of uninteresting high-production vanity video it is very successfully parodying with Denimbruin stuck on the end.
I've watched it like five more times and find it funnier each.
I endorse it.

^  [edit] : Lefty -- I think I am probably gonna stay near Emeryville maybe.  It seemed rather centrally located, and safe.  It was suggested by the locals, and former locals I spoke to.  Not too far from Oakland Airport or SFO and easy access to rail/bus/uber,lyft

----

fibromyalgia is some bullshit

despite the stars aligning financially, its best i make the trip solo since stress leads to flares in Mrs. Dale's fibromyalgia and even uneventful travel can be stressful.  Combine that with trying to lug a kid and car seat to and from SFO, and all over -- the opportunity for stress is high. --(sigH)- And while I am a brave man, I am not brave enough to travel solo with a 2 year old -- so  , you all won't get to meet the rest of my family

which really sucks

If anybody coming from out of town is thinking of staying in the East Bay rather than SF I personally would recommend staying in Oakland. Look for a spot Downtown. Great food, and beer in walking distance, BART train nearby if you don't want to drive into SF and Alameda is 5 minutes away if you want to check out the  http://alamedapointantiquesfaire.com/" rel="nofollow - http://alamedapointantiquesfaire.com/  on Sunday.

We booked an apartment via airbnb on Fell - right near where Van Ness and Market intersect.
It seems right between the Mission and the center.
I'm excited for Tartine, Liguria, the art in the Mission, Grace Cathedral, Samovar Tea, Schauplatz Vintage, and plenty more. I should be broke, fat, and over-clothed by the end of the weekend.

Hello all,

My name's Andrew and I'm Griffing Ave. I'll be exhibiting at Denim Bruin this year on Saturday night so I thought I'd introduce myself here. I make stuff out of leather. I work out of the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda specifically). I'm a very small time maker and this will be my first real exposure to pretty much anybody. Not really sure what else to say about myself. Let me know if you have any questions about me.

Here's a coaster that I'm making for the event. Come by and say hi.

Check out my site: www.griffingave.com

I was furiously attacking the calculator to wangle a justification to pick up something from Whitefeather, now I've got to try and pad it out for a LVC Henley too.  If I come home empty handed, this will be one sad Panda.

BART CLOSURE

In their infinite wisdom, San Francisco and Oakland are closing down the only usable SF/Oakland/Berkley public transit system this saturday & sunday.
Not too awful if you plan ahead- this means there will be heavier than usual car traffic, so if you are going from one city to the other, catch a ride or make sure you have the Uber or Lyft app on your phone. Allow a little extra time and expect congestion pricing for Uber.
