Some photos I've been meaning to reshoot and post for a while. Some I found thrifting in SF or Guernville, I think robbie might have sent me one or two of these.
Not the clearest photo, but check out the denim on the guy on the left. Look at those cuffs! No date. I'm guessing from around 1950.
No date, but guy on left looks to be wearing a USN dixie cup cap. '30s/ '40s?
Post WWII?
No date.
Not workwear, but such a nice shot. Dated Aug. 27th 1930.

I believe this is a regional magazine distributed by Monsanto, ADM or one of the major farm brands, I can't rightly tell. Would love to find more copies of this magazine though, sort of a 'LIFE' for farmers at least from the looks of it. I think I have the rest somewhere, will try to scare it up. I clipped the cover as it has a Coca-Cola ad on the reverse side.

I dig seeing what kids were wearing as well, dressing like little versions of the grown-ups. I remember always being poked at for dressing like an old man, I was really just dressing like what I remembered of my father, and grandad. I feel like adults dress so terribly anymore that there are very few examples of how a could dress well. Of course this is all opinion, and all can dress as they like, but... people look silly
Anyways, I dig this photo with big cuffs, engineer boots collared shirts. There is a pretty cool fella in this photos who has a few well worn Lee jackets that he has been photographed in. Kid on the far right reminds me of denimbro member Bob Dale

I imagine the giganto-cuffs were less of a fashion statement for these cats and more of their moms hedging against coming growth spurts...

Aw common, no guesses? If I gave the source I give away the mystery man. I'll give ya a hint, fella in white pants. Better focus would be great, but I don't know if it exists.

I think either that, or hand me downs. I read somewhere kids in the 40s and 50s would wear somewhat baggy clothes to give the illusion of hand-me-downs (I.E I have an older brother, don't with me). Great picture Illumin8em

Some vernacular photographs I found in Omaha a few years back. I apologize that these pictures are smaller, and not the best resolution. I will try to scan them when I find an actual hard copy of this. It was a cover i worked up for a failed zine i tried starting in 09/10).

I am gonna pretend (hope,...) that he's wearing some old Levis, though my guess is they aren't actually denim. Anyhow just too cool of a shot to let fall by the wayside:

December 27, 1949. That's my dad before he was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Can anyone give me an idea of what the woman is wearing? Levi's, I presume. What was the woman's line called at the time? (Maybe she's also wearing 501s?)

Interesting side note: My Dad was a real renaissance man. Among other things, he built all of our furnature and made all of his own clothes (mine too, when I was a kid). He once made a toggle pea coat and carved the wooden toggles himself on a lathe.
When he was in his mid 60s and retired, he spent most of his time in the garage building. He made himself a few pairs of dungarees (not sure what pattern he used if any) and only gave them one back pocket. When I asked him about it, his response was, "I don't ever put anything in that pocket on pants that have them, so I figured I should just skip it."
He was quite a guy.

A buddy posted this photo on Facebook a few days ago. His grandpa is the fella up high on the right. The Strawberry Tunnel project is what brought water to the region of Central Utah where my great grandparents farmed. The photo brought back a lot of memories of my great grandfather. He was a World War I vet, loved International Scouts and would drive my siblings and me to the drive-in burger joint long after he was legally blind.

Two or three of them appear to be Lee 101j's (middle pic - left and btm pic - left and right) and maybe one or two Type 1's (middle pic - right and btm pic - middle) But I wouldn't stake my life on it.

About ten years ago my dad gave me some old t-shirts he had in the back of a drawer that hadn't fit him in years. This was before I realized how things had changed from vntage to modern clothing in even simple things like undershirts. The way they were cut and fit was great. I tried all sorts of brands trying to reproduce the effect to no avail. They fit pretty much like the above pics, and were probably from no later than the late sixties. I was wearing awesome vintage and didn't know it (at least I appreciated it, even if I didn't know why).
