The Real McCoy's Military Athletic Shoe

Size US9

Loooooooong sold out

Based on the original US Army training shoe

This is the old 2009 version without the thick ugly toe bumper

I picked these up from Yahoo (back in the summer) in 'worn once' condition i would say that is accurate, the canvas is still very stiff, there is absolutely no delaminating of the glue, they still feel very stiff and new, the stitching is very white and the inside is fresh and clean although there are a few slight scuffs around the foxing tape.

I have owned these in size US8, 8.5 and 9 and they all fit TTS

Sorry, i do not have the original box but they will be shipped boxed

These are one of my favourite items which RMC have ever put out, hence why i keep scouring the auctions for them, so much sleeker than the current model.
You would be very hard pressed to find another pair in this condition.

Price will be £140/$180 paid via PP friends or +4%

I'd rather have cashmoney (much like yourself Martin) but what do you think about this..

If no offers come forward in the next couple of days for either of our goodies i'll do you a swap if you'll chuck in one o'them swish London hemjobs before sending them my way?

I know they're raw but i'm not overly concerned if they end up with a slightly short summer inseam, i quite like the look of short and wide 50's.

OK, lemme have a think. What are the measurements of the shoes (max length and max width of sole) so I can compare them to some existing boots of a similar style, you can never go by size alone.

They're TTS but i'll measure them up when i get home, if you want to make doubly sure, you could always try a pair on at RMC London.

Any chance you could ask 'Don Corleone' to drop me a pm or email with some wise words re- expected inseam shrinkage?

Just checking... if Maynard is not taking them, what size do you wear in your Vans? And how do these fit compared to those??

What happened Gav... In pretty much all footwear Ive always worn a size 8 for a snug fit or ideally (if available) an 8.5 for a perfect fit but in recent years ive found that a lot of my old size 8 pumps (which i owned in my 30's) have become a little too short/snug in the length, i think my arches have fallen slightly as ive become less gazelle like,  i wondered if i could swing a size 9 but obviously not.. they're cavernous so i can't really compare them to anything else i own. I assumed i could move these on easily should they be too big. Confused

Just off to the park.. i'll sort some photo's of the sizing in a bit..

Thanks Neal, I think they are going to be too small for me but it’s worth investigating fully haha.
Likewise I used to wear uk9 or 9.5 in vans, but now for a nice roomy fit I wear uk10 in the pairs I just bought. There is probably a fairly big difference between our foot size.

Right.. here we go fellas

The lenght is around 11.5"

Looking square on at the tape

Width is around 4" at the sole

...but they 'belly out' around the shape at the toes to nearly 4.25" wide

^The sole is stood on the 10" and 14" mark so as you can see they're wider than the 4" measurement would have you believe.

Thanks Neal, I have a horrible feeling that they may be a half-size too big, having measured some similar footwear. I’ll do some more measuring tomorrow but if you receive an offer in the interim, go for it. I may try to get to the Real McCoy shop to try if they’re still unsold though

I would say my J.Lofgrens in a size 8.5 are a perfect fitting pump, oddly they only measure 1/8" shorter in length and 1/8" narrower than those McCoys... what the flip!

Alas... I think too small for me. Look similar sizing to my belafonte ones which I don’t wear anymore because they are uncomfortable...

Someone buy these! £90 is a bargain, 1/2 size too big for me I think otherwise I’d have bit his foot off at this price...
