A place to share photos , and anything else you wish to share about your favorite garment .

My favorite garment is a really cheap t shirt I bought at a st Vincent de Paul thrift in Oklahoma City. The thrift was between a strip club and a bar in a really dive-y part of town. The lady was so excited to have a customer she handed me a paper grocery bag and said ‘ anything you can fit in this bag for $5’ to which I replied ‘anything?’ I believe I left with 3-4 pairs of beat to hell levis 517s some loafers , a ton of tee shirts , et cetera. It’s all I have left of that experience , this shirt. I love it .

It’s un fussy , it fits , and it was about 60 cents if my math is correct.

How about yourself ,

What’s your single favorite garment ??

Jacks Levi’s , not sure if they count but I love them because I’ll more than likely never own a pair myself ( that fits )

Great thread idea, Bob!

My favorite is this Flat Head shirt. I prefer to wear leather jackets, but as much as I love my current leather jacket collection, all of them could be replaced if needed.

This shirt, however, is priceless to me. It fits perfectly as a 'summer jacket' over a t shirt because it is designed to be untucked and therefore is not too long and has a flat hem.

The fabric is an incredible dobby loom fabric with greys, reds, whites, and a bit of orange to create my all time favorite shirt fabric. I wish I had bought an extra of this one because I wear it so much that I'm sure I'll destroy it eventually, but I absolutely adore it.

Anything made under my brand naturally, especially the Atlas shirts. LOL But seriously speaking, I can find fault in those two and there are things I'd change on a second run.

Leaving my brand aside...my Freewheelers 1943s are pretty great. And so is all my Lofgren footwear. Hard to pick just one thing. Perhaps it would be the Freewheelers jeans.

Possibly my Alfred Sargent Dumfries boots (dark tan brogues, when the triple leather sole wore down, I replaced it with a commando sole).

Tough choice for me, but probably my Roy test lot jeans.
Worn and washed a bunch, no sign of any threads breaking and they fit prefectly.

My favorite piece is probably this 1960s Finnish 'James' (after James Dean) brand denim jacket with a period Snoopy done on the back.

I bought it from this nice lady whose uncle was the original owner. A kind of rebellious but lovable figure, he was also a keen amateur painter in his day. In the 70s he gave the jacket to his little brother, who in turn added a bunch of studs to make it his own.

I can't say I wear it often, but I really like how it looks and I like the story behind it.

Lovely idea for a thread.

With quite a bit of a margin I'd say it's my vintage 507XX. Always adored the style but never thought I'd be able to find/afford one in my size. With a lot of luck I found one for cheap here in Gothenburg. Was dead certain it was a repro before I checked it more thoroughly.

For me it's my Sugarcane 11Mj

I'm not blessed with a particularly large income so will always try to get a bargain or buy used, but when I saw this I just had to have it at full ticket price.

I think I was signed off work with a Pneumothorax at the time and needed a purchase to cheer me up.

I wear it quite rarely as the fit is perfect and i'm terrified of getting it grubby and requiring a wash. I should probably just bite the bullet and put some proper miles on it.

My favorite garment is this Stevedore shirt I bought in 2009 from the now defunct CXXVI. IT was at the most expensive article of clothing I had ever bought (I think it was $125?) which seemed insane to me as I primarily thrifted my clothes. I see now that it was worth every penny, and it taught me the importance of quality over price in a tangible way

After more than 10 years it has really held up, although it is getting pretty threadbare in a couple places. I've done all the repairs on it myself, mostly to the area around the bottom left hem and when a button pops off. It's been by far the best article of clothing I have ever had and dread the day it finally disintegrates in my hands after one too many days on the job.
