Across my house came a new restaurant, and this is the view from their terrace towards my house. Nothing grime in my hood. Will go around and find some nice things to show.

Various mixture of photos
    Couple parks and the last photo is The Fremont Troll     Photos from various job sites in a West Seattle and Bellevue    Some photos from strolling the neighborhood. Always have to snap a photo of the classic American cars and trucks. |

That's a pretty area to live in Double O'
Brought my car to the garage today and walked back home. Realized it was a good opportunity to show my neighborhood. First I had to go thru the park, with is really nice. Apparently it wasn't so nice 10/15 yrs ago. Full of junky's and dealers and their friends. It cleaned up good. When the theater is good it gets to crowded though. hundreds of bbq's and their trash the day after.  Plantsoen, means park. Crossed the bridge to get in my neighborhood , some house bouts there. There's one canal going round the city center.    There's a nice old cobbled street after the bridge, don't know much about the history of the area, but when it still was the outskirt of the city there where factories and ship yards and such. Ther is a mix of bigger nice houses and small factory worker houses.      At the end of the cobble street is a water tower, with was build in 1912, and is the biggest water tower in Holland. It's vacant since the 90's I believe. Saw online that its sold to become a restaurant. News from 2016, I don't see any movement there unfortunately.     and the water tower's neighbor  View in my street and my house with my bike     |

Beautiful! does the architectural dome in your street have past religious significance? It looks like a pretty incredible building. I would love a canal boat, a friend of mine has the boat which he grew up on and recently inherited dry docked, he's from a family of river gypsies and spent his childhood sleeping in a hammock suspended from the ceiling because the boat was often knee deep in water, alas the bad memories means its for sale and going cheap.

So far, everyone seems to have such nice, charming neighborhoods!! Where I live now feels very sterile by comparison. I'll post pics in the next few days!

 I actually had to look up this house. I didn't know it was famous. It's closer to Mr. R, but I go to that area once a month as my doggo is quite fond of the park nearby. I'll take a snap this weekend  |

I was at a neighborhood get together last saturday , and saw old pictures of the area. An older lady said that that building used to be a girl school [ maybe catholic girl school] where she was a teacher. Next to it was a public school with is torn down.

I live in the Korea-town part of Silicon Valley. It's pretty mundane compared to the rest of the Bay Area.
Here's a shot looking down my street from the dog park  Just over a small overpass lies a bunch of tech companies like this one  Heading the other way is El Camino, a 600 mile road which goes all the way down California. It's filled with shopping centers, motels, and pretty much everything else.   Typically, I purchase groceries from nearby Korean and Japanese markets... the portions aren't large, but the meat, fish, and vegetables are much nicer quality than those from popular chains like Whole Foods... and the nearby Kinokuniya is a plus so I can easily pick up the latest Clutch or 2nd magazines   You may have to fight some obasans for the best picks though  There is a real downtown nearby, but there aren't typically a lot of people walking the streets   There are a lot of random murals to add some color   Lately, electric scooter rentals have been littering the streets, they're friggin' 'everywhere  But luckily, I typically don't need to hang around except to go get film developed or to head to Muji  And it's only around 40 minutes from the beach or San Francisco proper   |
