Sorry 00, I couldn’t find the original post. What rayon shirt were you washing? I have a 90 / 10 rayon / silk that could use a small amount of shrinking. I’ve been told to hand wash but I’m thinking of giving it half an hour on 30 deg especially as I want the shrinkage.

It's a SunSurf shirt which i wanted to chuck in the machine rather than wash by hand.

Its the heat which will cause it to shrink but go too warm and you'll get irregular shrinkage also never dry it in direct sunlight.

I was reading a Japanese denim blog a few months ago (i can't remember which or even find the post) regarding reproducing the perfect red tab and the appropriate curl and the causes behind it which incidentally went into misshapen Hawaiian (rayon) shirts. I wish i could find it because it also went into highlighting the difference between different examples of Levi's rayon tabs... some were indeed stiffer, less curl and had a courser weave texture akin to many modern repro brands whereas some examples were much finer, silkier, shiny akin to rayon shirt material.
I'll endorse anything for cash

Ive already trawled back through my history Chaz, i was sure it was on the AIIRO blog which i posted in the CSF thread some weeks ago but i can't seem to find it. I often stumble on Japanese blog posts via google images so they were'nt necessarily 'searches' i typed in.

Thanks for the info 00. I think I’ll try a 30 machine wash with only a gentle spin first. My shirt is a Groovin’ High 50s style shirt but I do love the Sun Surfs too.

Looking for more sustainable tee shirt options.
Anyone have recommendations for good blank hemp tees?
Thanks

I have a levis trousers for many years now, bought them over 14 years ago and never quite understood what model it is. I think it may be some kind of replica of ancient model.
I bought in a local shop of my home town that sold several jeans brands (Levis, Lee Lois) as other pants brands, ex. Dockers and many times, since the shop already had a longevity in business, old/special/rare models would pop-up.
The trousers have the metal main button in copper, with the brand name (I apologise for the lack of correct terms I may write, since I lack them or do not know the correct term in English); the fly button are not in metal, but in black plastic (non metal).
It has the riveted pockets, the ones in the back pockets are uncovered and this pockets have also black plastic buttons to close the pockets.
The 2 horse patch is in white cloth and no model or size number (my trouble in trying to know what model can this be). The following pictures are to show the pants.

It also have a long, but narrow pocket in the back side in one of the legs and the long belt loops.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Yeah, some vintage features on those but they're 2000's (if not more recent) I would say...
Too much Denim - too little time...

Thanks Denimet! And the model, do you have any idea, surely it's not a 501.
