Thank you for all the kind comments, guys. We are rather excited to be hosting Denim Bruin again - last year was a lot of fun.

Theoretical workwear is a very apt term. I often play this exercise - if a brand was a movie, what would the lead character be like? Kapital would be a Japanese couple living in 1970s Topanga Canyon. Lots of room to delve deeper there....

Indigofera would be Swedish vikings riding motorcycles through Tombstone, Arizona - long blonde hair whipping in the wind, heavy denim and leather overshirts - a sort of peaceful Scandinavian motorcycle club up to lots of mischief.

Anyways - looking forward to meeting all the folks who are able to come out to Denim Bruin, and for those who can't this year - we hope to meet you another time.

^ Here's a short vid of them Vikings. I've posted it before on the Indigofera Thread, but it's still a fun watch ...

The "Hungry Wolf" on the clip will be coming to Denim Bruin btw

Ah yes, Kari the lone wolf. That video was hilarious, and so Swedish, especially with Mats just wanting to enjoy his denim in the quiet solitude of the forest.

We've been fortunate enough to spend more than a bit of time with Kari over the past year or so. All of the guys at Indigofera - Mats, Pontus, Kari in particular - are absolutely stand-up guys. I am really glad we get to spend some time with Kari this weekend!

Here's a good but slightly outdated article on Indigofera. Very good introduction and backstory of Mats, the founder.

and here's a 'Meet the retailer' video they did on Pinkomo in Helsinki

It was a pleasure meeting the gents from S&S at this years Denimbruin. Very nice guys. The OOE score is a fantastic one.
I have a quick question that I forgot to ask in person. I have a young friend who is just dipping his toe into the premium denim world (I know, I've warned him) and anyways I was wondering do S&S offer a chainstitched hemming service? He currently lives in Oakland and doesn't have a car so getting to Self Edge to get his hems done is not so easy. It would be great for him and probably others if S&S could do it. Thanks and keep up the good work.

We had a blast at Denim Bruin as well - thanks for coming by!

Currently we only offer a free chainstitch hem service through Tellason, on Tellason jeans only.

Other jeans - we do offer a lockstitch hem service [insert rant here about lockstitch being a superior, stronger stitch]. We are happy to suggest other folks who do offer a chainstitch hem service, both local (AB Fits, Self Edge) and in LA (Denim Doctors/HTC).

Some shots of Neil working on the new, much larger S & S space- around the corner from the current spot, directly on Telegraph. Slated for a mid-October opening...

I dropped in after Thanksgiving to check out the blow out inventory of their "Garage Sale". There were lots of good bargins and they had cold beer. Beer

The new space is a major change and my guess is that they will attract a much wider audience on the new Telegraph Ave. location where they have clear main street visibility and steady traffic from two popular East Bay restaurants right by their front door.

Inside everything is easy to see. It is a very comfortable setting. In talking with the owners it sounds like we can expect to see some more premium brands coming in as well as their own house brand of made in Japan shirts. You will want to keep an eye on these guys.
