00, I never smile like that whilst sitting at my sewing machine. I do, however, squint one eye and cuss like a sailor.

Which reminds me to ask you, Duke: How did you manage to mug a US Coast Guard officer for that toque and did you see a groove-headed, shivering guy waving his fist in the air in your rear-view mirror as you scarpered off into the night on your lights-out cigarette boat?

Or did you just purchase it online?

Yes, i've been using Woolpower for over a decade, its wonderful stuff!

I also have the 400g long johns which are great for winter tent trousers or stood out in the cold (from Ray Mears) but are far too hot for moving around in.
I use those^ 200g as a base layer for cycling to work with a cheap 'Decathalon' micro-fibre trouser over the top, when it gets really cold i'll keep them on all day and wear them as a base layer underneath my work jeans, being wool you can wear them all week sometimes longer without the need for a wash.
I bought them from 'etrias' who are based in the Netherlands because they showed full stock and offer free ship/returns, i wanted to try both the Sm and Med and send one back, they didn't actually have much stock but were able to order it in within a week, apart from this minor issue they were great to deal with.
You're better off ordering Woolpower in the summer months, at this time of year they have huge supply/demand problems but i'm happy to excuse that because they employ 'smiling' humans rather than robots.

I have beat the crap out of my 400g wool over-mitts for 10 years+ and they are still going strong, you can wash everything at 60° if it gets really sweaty, it just tightens up the knit and it stretches back with wear.

I have the Woolpower zip turtleneck for a while, can't remember if it's 200 or 400. It's comfy enough warm enough even though a rather loose nearly see through weave, and rarely needs a wash. My only complaint is the incredible amount of piling that accumulates so easily.

I have just two knit sweaters, but love them both dearly. My girlfriend is a pretty serious knitter and has made me a couple of treasured items as well.

Vintage Kandel Woolen Mills, a defunct knitting mill from Portland made this varsity sweater I picked up at a second hand shop.

Something from Dehen's famous sample sale I picked up a few years back.

And a watch cap my lady reproduced after I showed her a picture of a sailor aboard the USS Maine wearing one in 1897.

The buttons are great, are they cork?

Just picked one up Double O, they're made from wood, perhaps local to the factory?

I've been ramping up my knitwear for the cold months ahead - this cashmere/merino number from Private White arrived this morning courtesy of a poorly labelled ebay listing. Very pleased with it.
