This is just an exploratory post- no plans are in motion behind the scenes.

I propose a contest using a US WWII army/navy dungaree type denim pant like the one grant started the RRL thread off with (I've quoted him below).
Are there enough men here who aren't afraid of a wide leg to make this idea work?
Chime in with thoughts about a contest or design elements.
I am thinking any similar dungaree, military or non-, from '30s through the '50s could be good source material for a possible design.

If there is sufficient interest I'll look into finding a manufacturer.

This wouldn't be any time soon- sometime in 2014 maybe.

They were USA made using beautiful Japanese denim and had a full cut leg with a generous rise, patch pockets, button fly and buckle cinch back.

I'm in. But I'd want the details to be pretty close to the original. I've wanted a pair of those for awhile now.
Sell me your Mister Freedom stuff. :)

I'd be interested.

I had never seen the pair above, those are instantly among my favorite RRL pieces ever.

^TCB might be down to produce? Not sure how they feel about small runs but they have a pair they call "seamens": http://happyjeans.jp/tcb/category/seamens

This gal is cute as buttons:

The TCB version has some cool details as well, the dark stitching and grey weft are nice.

Ah I have a womens pair of RRL dungarees like this... but they're thin and pre-distressed. I'd be so down, please make one small enough to fit me!  Also that girl is cute as heck, hollows.

Forgot to mention, while I can't compete, I'd be down for a group buy if I'm welcome...Still thinking TCB would be realistic, maybe we can get them to spec something with a cinch, etc. which would be different from their sample above?
